About the Event

Songwriter's Workshop

Brought to you by Poss Music Works, a 501c3 NFP with a mission to bring and foster music & culture to Downstate IL & surrounding areas.

The Songwriters Workshops are provided by instructors  who have spent years working in the music business. We hope to create a  town hall style conversation with curious creatives, that allows us to  share our experience, process, and networking opportunities, while answering any questions that come up along the way. Songwriters at all  experience levels are welcome, and we believe that the approach of an open conversation with the creative community (lead by a working  professional) builds a support system for artists to find inspiration,  innovative ideas, and motivation to keep making art. These events are  also valuable in creating a networking opportunity for creatives in your  local music scene to meet each other, develop a stronger connection,  and be introduced to regional, and national communities. We use  songwriting as the topic of discussion because we have spent decades  trying to hone our own skills, and have a wealth of knowledge to share  with the existing and upcoming musical communities.

In short, we love songwriting and we want to help inspire other writers to keep reaching, writing, and growing.

"The programs we present bring culture, community, and entertainment to the Effingham area and beyond, and lift up & support artists while we’re at it. We are building an "arts-rich" community!" -Poss Music Works
