MILF: Man I Love Film

MILF: Man I Love Film, features the delicately handcrafted silver gelatin prints of nine talented students under the guidance of artist and instructor Sage Mend. This captivating exhibition of black and white darkroom photography is showcasing at the Jacoby Art Center in Alton for the month of May. The show explores the relevance of film photography in the local Alton and Godfrey regions, inspiring a renewed appreciation for film as a creative medium. Visual and conceptual themes that are important to each individual artist are materialized using light and darkroom chemistry in the form of printed images from film negatives. Some of the themes being explored include the subcultures of new age emo, the furry fandom, and human and animal struggles.
