Darkroom Studio

Enter through Main Broadway Entrance

Come check out our newest addition to the JACOBY STUDIOS- our darkroom studio!  Join artist-in-residence Jeff Sass as he teaches you how to create a one-of-a-kind work of art from a cell phone snap! Email Jeff your favorite subject- a selfie, your pet, the antique truck in your barn... at: printsofdarkness@jacobyartscenter.org

You'll convert the digital file to an 8x10 photographic print in the darkroom and then watercolor over it while it's still wet.

No experience is necessary to join this workshop. Students will take home a unique print at the end of this class.

Jeff Sass is an accomplished photographer and artist.  Amazing happenstance, too perfect to be truly coincidental, led him to become the dark room facilitator and photography artist-in-residence at JAC! Jeff is recently retired and will be spending his days running his business, Prints of Darkness, from the new darkroom at Jacoby.

*This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency and Alton Foundation.*
