Collage as an art form can help a youth unleash their creative potential! Collage can express a personal interest, a specific topic, a feeling or mood. It can be wacky, wild, funny, or serious- this medium gives the student an opportunity to express themselves, improve problem-solving skills, learn to enjoy the creative process and improve self esteem by finding the courage to try out their ideas. 

Through this creative process we will strengthen our voice by offering a unique perspective about our lives, homes, community, and world. Students take part in an assortment of activities with step by step, hands on instructions, designed to stretch imaginations while learning the basics of value, form, line, color, composition and texture. Students will explore different subjects, techniques and material to develop a theme, and with simple step-by-step directions create a finished collage at the end of the week.

Ages: Grades 6-8/Ages 12-14
