About the Event

Monoprinting with Joseph Sabel!

Unlike the many forms of printmaking where you produce multiples of an image using one process, monoprinting gives you the freedom to use as many processes as you, the artist, see fit! Each class session, you'll create one unique piece of art to take home!

August Saturdays 1-3PM August - 5, 12, 19, 26

$120 per four week session

Ages 14+

You'll learn various techniques to assist in creating monoprints using watercolors, screen print ink, graphite, and charcoal on silkscreens, make stencils and use ordinary household objects to bring your prints to life. Along with learning and practicing these processes, you'll also take away a general knowledge of how screen-printing works - from the types of inks used, to the tools and supplies needed to successfully screen print!

1st week - Introduction to Monoprinting - using printing tools & materials - Drawing on Silk Screen with graphite, charcoal & chalk

2nd week- Learning to Print with watercolor

3rd week- Printing with Silk Screen ink

4th week- Learning to make stencils and flats - Combining multiple methods of Monoprinting

All class supplies are included in class price. If desired- bring an apron and towel for personal use to protect clothing from inks.
